Horrible Man Pranks Unsuspecting People in Abandoned Building to Promote His Probably Stupid Movie

Imagine yourself–the inquisitive, ghost loving adventurers that you all are–really taking in a Saturday afternoon. If you live someplace called Kirkcaldy, Fife (whatever that is) you might decide today is a nice spring day to go wander around the local abandoned children’s hospital. What an exciting and fun afternoon you’ll have! I hope no awful jerk ruins it by dressing up as a horrible owl monster to scare you and then films it and puts it on the internet!

Unfortunately for some this is exactly how their Saturday afternoons went, as a way of unwillingly helping filmmaker Lawrie Brewster generate “buzz” for his new movie. How did it go, Lawrie?

‘We had to stop the prank and escort the man from the ruined hospital and share with him some sandwiches and a flask of tea.’

Aw, that’s fun. Everyone loves free sandwich.

  1. NO. THAT COSTUME IS SO SCARY. (There are pictures at the link for those, like me, who are too chicken to watch the video.) It’s only a matter of time before one of these internet pranksters gives someone a heart attack or gets shot or something.

    • Sota says:

I am too scared to watch the video, but I also might have nightmares of that costume from the photos. SHIVER. ICK.

      • I was all set to not have much sympathy for anyone who’d voluntarily wander around in an abandoned children’s hospital, because as Truck says below, what did they expect–but that costume crosses the line. CROSSES THE LINE.

  2. Sorry, but if you go to a spooky, abandoned children’s hospital (honestly, is there anything more inherently creepy??), you have to know that you’re going to be up for some spooky shenanigans.

  3. Casey says:

This is at once the greatest and worst thing ever.

  4. Casey says:

I have to say, though, that all of these people handled it with a lot more composure than I would have.

    • msmessica says:

Yeah. Fetal position accepting his fate guy would be like the better end of my possible behavior if this happened to me.

  5. old man fatima says:

Was there an open house, or did this just the normal number of people wandering through this abandoned children’s hospital on any given Saturday afternoon?

    • old man fatima says:

Ah, I see in the article that this is just the normal number of people wandering through this abandoned children’s hospital on a Saturday afternoon. Very cool.

  6. I would be so mad if I was just trying to have a spooky afternoon and some asshole in a costume decided to be a jokester and scare the shit out of me with some dumb costume. It’s like going to a super classy French restaurant and then finding out that Guy Fieri has taken over for the night.

  7. catweazle says:

I want to sneak into a Ghost Adventures lockdown and do this to Zak Bagans.

  8. hotspur says:

15-year-old me is so jealous of this prank. This is exactly the kind of thing I figured I would spend my adulthood doing. I GUESS IT IS NOT TOO LATE.

  9. mrsberesford says:

Oh God, why did I watch the video? I know I’m not strong enough for this kind of thing.
