Soon You Will Have No Excuse Not To Have Seen Gilmore Girls

In the best news I’ve heard in many moons, it was just announced that starting October 1st all 153 episodes of our favorite show Gilmore Girls will be streaming on Netflix.

In honor of this amazing news I have compiled a list of the top five best Gilmore Girls Blingees:

5. This is a great introduction to the surprisingly small world of Gilmore Girls Blingees. Imprecise cropping. The color pink. The inclusion of a “Best Friends” stamp. And best of all, completely incongruous product placement!

4. Do you know how many Blingees there are of Paris? ONE! This is a travesty but at least there’s something out there paying tribute to her majesty.

3. This Blingee is like many Gilmore Girls Blingees in terms of the sorts of stamps that were placed on it. But it places so highly for the completely and utterly random screencap choice. Well done, Blinger.

2. This Blingee is just very descriptive. Most Jess Blingees are just covered in flames and hearts and the word “sexy” but this one tells a story. An important story. The story of the time Jess got beaked in the eye by a swan. #neverforget

1. “Why is this Blingee #1??? It’s so plain!” Well, I translated the text and I just wanted to follow directions.

(I love Gilmore Girls. You too? Then copy this.)

  1. I saw this beautiful news on Vulture yesterday and immediately wondered how Kelly was going to react to the news.

  2. smacky says:

Excellent news! My wife and I just finished the final episode of the final season of our summer of binge-watching “Chuck” and we always feel a bit sad and lost between shows. (It’s how we bond on weeknights after the kids are asleep!)

  3. flanny says:

I’m going to save these for the first blizzard of the season (which, judging by the temperature outside, might be tomorrow, brrrr).

  4. Sota says:

    Cannot wait to rewatch!!!!

  5. Guys. I’ve never seen this show so I will probably watch.

  6. Commentatrix says:

If anything could have brought me out of the literal funk that is my life at this moment, it was this news. So exciteddddd!

  7. nastyemu says:

Femu will be excited, although I doubt it will make up for the time they took away My So Called Life while she was in the middle of re-watching it.
I’ve only seen a few Gilmore Girls episodes myself, but I can appreciate the gif-abiltiy of it.

Where is Paris these days? She is a very talented actress. I can’t understand why some of the cast members seemed to disappear. I’m guessing Melissa McCarthy is the one who has had the most post-Gilmore success.

That one guy (I’m not going into specifics to avoid spoilers) has an awful plot line on True Blood, but I’m not counting that as a success.

    • catweazle says:

Wait who was on True Blood??

    • nastyemu says:

That one tool that mumbled a lot went on to be the one tool in Heroes that mumbled a lot.

      • Commentatrix says:

JESS WAS A BEAUTIFUL AND DAMAGED SOUL WHO JUST NEEDED A GOOD WOMAN TO LOVE AND HEAL HIM AND TEACH HIM HOW TO EXPRESS HIS FEELINGS

        • Jess was the woooorst. (Sorry. I hated all of Rory’s boyfriends, actually.)

        • Commentatrix says:

No, that’s a fair point. But he was so cute and brooding and sarcastic and LIKED BOOKS that I wanted him to be better soooo badly! See also: Logan Echolls of Veronica Mars for similar phenomenon.

        • nastyemu says:

Do you think the guys in that town were all super jealous that the women got all the good names?

        • Commentatrix says:

Hahaha, interesting observation! Taylor, Kirk, Michel, Jackson—so many terrible names!

Not Luke Danes, though. Luke Danes evokes flannel and coffee and manly shit all up in my heart. And pants. Mostly my pants.

        • catweazle says:

Jess was dreamy but he didn’t do such a great job at being Rory’s boyfriend what with the getting ideas above his station about having his own spinoff! But when he popped in during later seasons and was all mature and stuff… let’s just say it did nothing to stem the flow of my Logan hatred.

        • Commentatrix says:

Totally. I didn’t hate Logan like I hated Dean, but yeah, when Rory and Jess had that forbidden kiss that one time, I was like, GO FOR IT RORY FORGET THE BLOND RICH KID FROM THE CREEPY ALL-BLONDE FAMILY OF TERRIBLES!

        • catweazle says:

          Rory’s love interests:

Jess>literally any school-age male she encountered at any point but didn’t become involved with>Tristan>Logan>Dean

        • summerestherson says:

Just joining the Jess hate club. I HATE JESS.

Rory never had a good boyfriend!! Geez louise.

Who wants to talk about Lorelei’s boyfriends who weren’t Christopher or Luke? I’m a big Max supporter.

        • I really liked Max! I was annoyed by how that all played out. Because obviously she was going to end up with Luke (which I totally wanted, don’t get me wrong), so her relationship with Max was going nowhere from the beginning, but the way it ended just felt very forced and artificial, especially since Lauren Graham and that actor had such great chemistry.

        • summerestherson says:

Yes! I mean I love Luke and Lorelei too but Max could’ve been around longer. I guess it was so early in its run they didn’t know it was going to be another 5 years or whatever before Luke and Lorelei hooked up, but yeah, hated the way they left things with him. He was a good one.

        • Commentatrix says:

You guys remember Digger? ‘Nuff said.

        • catweazle says:

Shout out to Alex who wasn’t around for very long but was handsome and took Lorelai to a coffee-tasting! Don’t hold it against him that he went on to play Bella Swan’s dad.

      • nastyemu says:

It’s becoming clear to me that I have seen a lot more Gilmore Girls episodes than I originally thought.

    • Mintie says:

Paris/Liza Weil just got cast in the new Shonda Rhimes show ‘How to Get Away with Murder’, which I am SO excited to watch.

  9. I feel like we need to have a Vgum Gilmore Girls slumber party where we watch it again and braid each other’s hair and make blingees and talk about how big of a crush we have on Jess.

  10. I am super busy today but HOLY CRAP YES.

    RIP, my academic career.
