A Fresh Set Of Legs For The Holidays

HM is a place to share ridiculous animal videos, but since it’s the Month Of Cheers® I thought an uplifting story about a disabled canine would be more fitting.  Dog-lover Tara Anderson recently participated in the foster program Peace and Paws, where she was matched up with the lovely Derby, a husky mix who was born with two deformed legs.  The disfigurement took a toll his ability to be active, so Tara decided to do something about it.  She just so happens to work for 3D Systems, a hardware company that makes 3D printers.  Instead of printing pizza and unborn children, Tara used this technology to print Derby a set of prosthetic paws, enabling him to live his life like any other energetic pooch.  Between this and these damn commercials, we should considering buying tissues in bulk.

I just can’t. People keep sending me that puppy as christmas presents video too…and I am just not sure my heart can handle all these EMOTIONS.

This is obviously great, and I don’t want to be a nit-picker, but why didn’t they make him taller legs? He is so bent over! That can’t be good for his back!

She says in the video that they started him off low so it wouldn’t be that drastic. Were you passing notes in class again, Fatima?

Those prosthetics are amazing! Finally I can see the use of a 3D printer.
