Good News in the Fight Against Robots

We often express concern over the seeming inevitability of the looming robot apocalypse, but something has come to my attention that could change the way we think of our tin-and-electrode foes forever: sometimes robots suck. Hebocon is a Japanese (of course) fighting contest that pits shitty robot against shitty robot. I didn’t think I would watch this whole video, but then I did! It’s delightful, and it gives me hope for the future. Maybe when faced with the approaching Napoleonic hordes of robotic warriors, all we will have to do is flip them over with a small piece of cardboard.

About old man fatima

They say that Old Man Fatima is over 400 years old, and that she stays alive by feeding on kids like you and me every Halloween. I heard she turns into an owl at night and flies around the neighbourhood looking for her next victim and that nobody has ever seen her blink.

That was 7 minutes long and lots of times I refuse to watch things that are more than 20 seconds, but I could have watched that for an 8th minute no problem.

I don’t know if the dildo robot or the flat piece of cardboard robot was my favourite. Don’t make me choose!

I wonder if there is a director’s cut somewhere?

  2. I want a Pixar movie about all these terrible robots, who start off fighting but then have to join forces to defeat an army of super high-tech robots (with cleverness and tricks, since they’re physically hopeless).

Finally! Nerds I can get behind!

I love that they started taking parts of their fallen competitors and attaching them for the next rounds.
