Test Your Color Vision

This is a neat test I’ve seen floating around Tumblr that measures how well you see color. The lower the score, the better–I got a 14, which is pretty good! I have a tiny bit of trouble with blues and greens, apparently. Of course, all computer monitors display colors a little differently, so it’s probably not going to be 100% accurate, but it was still fun to do.

As a pretty colorblind person, the mere sight of that test was confusing and anxiety inducing. Then, as I started to understand it better, I began to enjoy it a little and felt my confidence going up. Then I scored an 88.

  2. I did this test a few years ago and did pretty good! pro-tip, look away every so often! It helps your eyes reset.

I got 58 and I am very disappointed in myself.

But given that I am binge-reading 50 Shades of Grey as I need to know about it for work tomorrow (SERIOUSLY, WHAT A FUCKING JOB 😦 ) I would argue that my judgement is severely impaired.

    • Oh god, I’m so sorry. You’ll get through this! Drink as much as you need!

I’ve genuinely read One Direction fanfic written by teenagers that is better than this. I have done 270 pages in two hours so I reckon I can knock off the rest by bedtime. But jeeeeeeez.

    • Are you going to take one for the team and see the movie? And then write something amazing about it?

      • gnidrah says:

If anyone throws a free screening at me, I will do that for you all. But no way am I paying good money for it. (I am, however, seeing Inherent Vice tomorrow night as I kind of protest!)

I got a 53! I too was disappointed! And I’ve taken this test before and was pretty sure I got a better score??? What’s going on?

Just finished. The fact I could read it in an afternoon is a good marker of how great a work of literature this book is not. I have sadly got to get some sleep but what I can say is I don’t get the fuss. Even the sex gets boring the 75th time they do it, and yes, there are elements of his controlling behaviour I find slightly troubling. But mostly it reads as if it was written in crayons.

Well I did the whole thing and then clicked to get my results and my work internet did this obnoxious thing where the network decided I wasn’t allowed to access that page (this happens literally like 10 times a day and drives me nuts) and it erased all my work so I’m just going to assume that I got an A+++.

Threadjacking: I just booked a little boutique hotel for my upcoming weekend in San Fran. I happened to be perusing the history page (as nerds like myself do), and theres a blurb about how the original owner’s daughter haunts the hotel! Last spring when I was in Cali, that hotel had a ghost too. Do all California hotels come with ghosts? Or maybe, what does it say about me that I keep staying at hotels that have ghosts?

  6. I got a 15. I tend to think of myself as VERY good at colors*, so I was instantly disappointed I didn’t get the best score of all of us.

*”What an odd thing to think about oneself!” -you, probably and you’re not wrong, but it’s still a thing I think. I pride myself on knowing which colors go well together and being able to tell if something will match without having the swatch with me.

I clicked on this twice planning to do it, but both times it just seemed like too much work. So… I’ll give myself “not good.”

  8. mordonez says:

I got an 8, so maybe that explains my limited sense of smell?

  9. starmanda says:

woah, I got 0 apparently?! I am perfect!

    • gnidrah says:

Wow! If you don’t work in something that involves colours (um, interior design? Make-up artist?) perhaps you should!

      • Erika says:

I took this test years ago as part of aptitude testing to try to figure out what I want to do in life. Since I got a really good score, art fields were recommended to me. But part of the problem with the testing that I did is that I scored high in a lot of different areas, and people who have aptitudes in lots of different fields find it really hard to figure out what they want to do.

So the testing was the opposite of helpful.

    • hotspur says:

Me too, a zero. We are perfect, starmanda. Let’s take naps, we’ve earned it.

  10. martinmegz says:

I did one row and got bored so I clicked submit and ended up with a score of 568.

  11. Erika says:

Zero. I have perfect color vision apparently.

  12. catweazle says:

Ok now I am home and I took it for real and got a 4. I am ok with that!
