She’s The Worst

Wondering what Videogum’s Certified The Worst (tm, RIP) is up to?  Well wonder no more!!

She’s telling everyone that she’s us, basically!

Totally Normal Human Woman Here! I’m not a lizard person! No sir!

From an interview with CNN:

“The purpose of Goop: “What we try to do at Goop is curate and to edit. We know that a woman’s time is her most precious resource and we want to multitask, get a lot done, and what we want to do is provide the best solutions.”

The common woman: “I’m incredibly close to the common woman in that I’m a woman and I’m a mother and we all are in a physical body with beating hearts with compassion and love we are all seekers…we all want fulfillment, we all want to live our best lives. We want to be healthy and happy and squeeze the most we can out of life. I think that’s all women.”

The perception that Goop is only for rich people: “I always say that when people make that false assumption, it’s because people haven’t actually gone to the site and seen what we’re selling and seen what we’re about… I think the idea is that we’re going to find the best thing and where it is at any price point.”

Don’t call her a lifestyle guru: “I see myself as an actor and a mother and as an entrepreneur. I don’t see myself as a guru at all. I’m not a guru because I’m the one asking the questions. I’m not purporting to know anything.”

“I am incredibly close to the common woman, because I am a robot in the shape of a human woman programmed to feel a wide range of human emotions and raise human young”–Gwyneth Paltrow.  What else do you think she has in common with normal, human ladies?

    Well I’m convinced!

  2. Why does she look so much like Jessica Simpson in that second picture?

    • old man fatima says:

It’s the terrible hair colour. I feel like maybe that is catty of me, but it’s Gwenneth Paltrow so I don’t feel awful.

  3. “All women and all mothers are exactly the same” -Gwyneth, aka the worst.

  4. taoreader says:

Hmm. Well, as a female who is child-free, I guess I’m incredibly unclose to the common woman. I do have a beating heart though. Does that qualify? Can I be in the woman club?

    • Sota says:

I will join you as a child-free but heart-having woman. I bet we are on Gwenny’s wait list.

    • artdorkgirl says:

But are you an actor who’s just asking the questions? If not…then I don’t know if you qualify.

      • taoreader says:

What really cracks me up is that someone asks her something like, “Are you close to the common woman?” and she answers “I am” which is admitting that she is not a common woman, that she sees a boundary between herself and the rest of us, which would be fine if she weren’t trying so hard to convince us that she is one of us.

        • hotspur says:

Haha, I just noticed that. Her answer is basically, “Biologically, I am indistinguishable from every woman alive. Also, I want to squeeze all I can from life, and I believe that is close to the norm.” Hahah, yes, whether squeezing all you can means using a $200 keychain while requesting obscure fish from your personal fish concierge, or eating instant ramen every night for a year and keeping your keys on a twist tie, all ladies want to squeeze all they can!
