Go Ahead And Throw Your Keyboard In The Trash

For decades, we’ve been using mundane input devices to control our computer.  Any dullard can press a series of buttons labeled with the alphabet or a small plastic mound named after a rodent.  With the Makey Makey Go, you can turn anything into an input device.  This video showcases some of the things you can do with the USB dongle, including a doughnut space bar, banana piano, and a number of situational selfie devices.  For $19 bucks, I’d consider investing in one and trying to create some of these crazy contraptions, but I lack the imagination to do anything crazy.  What do you guys thing it should be used for?

This is clearly just another way for the man to keep tabs on us!

This would be a neat party gizmo, but I hate the video and the name so much.

You could build so much weird and fun stuff with this, potentially. Huh. Like you could make a whole keyboard that takes up a room where each letter is a thing that starts with that letter, so to type the word MONSTER you would have to hit Mango Orange Book (it would be an architecture book about Richard Neutra) Stirrer (like a pot, you stir once to get an S) Tab (a can of soda, but that could get confusing if people think it’s the tab key) Egg Rat (maybe best to omit the R; he bites). You could put it in a gallery and visitors would be invited to type a haiku which would be printed out and then I’m not sure what. Maybe there’s a contemplative haiku garden in back where they are the leaves of fake trees. Or there is a haiku monster. I am out of ideas now.
