It’s Friday! Let’s Dance!

Unfortunately, our beloved Theresa is too busy being a #ladyboss and doing important business things, leaving her unable to post the last post for the week.  We shall honor her with the gift of dance, as well as inform her of our grand plans for the next couple of days.  My company rented out an amusement park for 10 hours, and will spend most of tomorrow trying not to barf on all of the rides.  How about you guys?

(Oh, and don’t forget that next Friday is the deadline for everyone to submit their entries for flanny’s Ultimate Summer Funtime Monster Megamix 2015 mixtape.  Summer technically starts on June 21st, so let’s have some jams to celebrate the seasonal equinox in style.)

Thanks for the reminder, I need to get my selections to Flanny.

I have no plans this week other than brunch on Sunday, so I’m looking forward to a lazy Saturday. I was thinking of maybe starting Hannibal? I don’t know! The weekend is full of opportunities!

  2. Me:

Since I didn’t make the post, I’ll actually comment! Tomorrow I’m meeting a friend for breakfast and then going to a little family shindig, and then Sunday I’m probably cleaning, because apparently when you live alone, no one does that for you? Rude.

Thanks for the shout-out, FRQ! I’ve gotten two responses at, and I’m obsessively checking that address for more! So far, we’ve got some pretty baller jamz. I know some people are talking about footing the bill for mailing, which I appreciate, but I don’t have the mental bandwith to figure out how to do that, so unless someone want to do the research for that for me, I’m willing to send out the CDs and post the playlist after all the CDs have gone out. Anyone interested in doing some artwork for the cover?

I volunteered to help a colleague paint the interior of a house this weekend, which I actually love doing. However, when I met with her yesterday to discuss, she just talked about her diet and GMOs and quinoa and blah blah blah, so it might not be as fun as I want it to be. But I should get some brownnosing points!

We have some family in town for the next week, so that is fun and means we will be eating out a lot, which is great.

I had the day off today to hang out with above mentioned family. I can’t decide if I should now take a nap or chug some coffee and finish up some housework I need to do. I either have to do it tonight or in the morning, but as much as I want to get it over with, I don’t know if I have the energy to do anything but watch tv.

I’m not making any plans for the weekend because my uncle who has leukemia is basically on his deathbed right now. I spent the last couple of days with him and his family but came back to work today. Let me tell you, obsessively checking your phone to see if somebody has called to tell you your relative is dead is not a good way to make the workday fly by!

In order to not be a complete Downward Debbie, I did get to see the baby yesterday and he is now able to both crawl and pull himself up to standing and he’s always so pleased with himself when he manages it! How is it possible for one baby to be so cute? I did a Google search of “dancing baby” so I could be on-theme and found something extremely creepy:

Congratulations, we’re all going to jail now!

  6. I move on Sunday and I am so happy to get it over with especially because the stupid previous tenant said she’d be out by saturday and just yesterday changed it to 3pm Sunday which totally fucked over my plans. I did manage to get utilities/internet switched to my name in an almost painless process.

In other news this nightmare project has me averaging 11 hour workdays. HA. It’s funny because the topic is great but the project is so mismanaged that it has destroyed my soul and I am so miserable right now.

Thank god I’m seeing one of my most favorite friends in the world tonight who is only in town for like 3 days. I love her so much and last night she gave me a wonderful hug and everything was awesome.

Currently buzzed and riding the bus home. Happy hour with the work peeps = A+. Tomorrow I am going garage saling in a fancypants neighborhood and therefore assured good treasures, then going out for lunch wi th friends and in the evening to an MLS soccer (futbal?) game. I need advice on how to be more euro. Anywho…the fun abounds. Now my goals are trying not to fall asleep in the next 20 min and miss my bus stop. #goals

I don’t even understand how this week was only 4 days and yet it felt like the longest week! I look forward to doing nothing but lounging, reading, drinking and eating this weekend. Maybe I’ll go to the beach for the first time this year to do the aforementioned lounging et al. Yes, that sounds swell!

  9. Ugh, I’m still at work because even though my boss left at 3:30, he told me to stay until 6:30 so I’m literally playing Candy Crush at my desk. Boo hiss. However, I’m going to see American Idiot tonight which makes my angsty teenage heart so happy and I might go to a friend’s birthday tomorrow so it should be a fun weekend!
