Movies From The Future! (aka Trailers)

It’s Wednesday morning and this damn allergy medicine is making me drowsy, so now is the perfect time for a batch of trailers!

The Good Dinosaur

Pixar’s Inside Out hasn’t even been released, and here we are with a teaser for another movie. Despite the fact that Cars 2 exists, they still have a stellar reputation and am looking forward to this.

Point Break

It’s the kind of trailer that makes me want to crap in my hand and rub it on my face.

The Diary of a Teenage Girl

Of all the “The Diary of a” movies, this one seems to be the most interesting.

American Ultra

Those long beautiful locks. The whole Chuck/Pineapple Express vibe. Topher! It’s quite a pot they’re stirring for this film (no pun intended).

The End of the Tour

A movie chronicling journalist David Lipsky’s famous road trip interview with David Foster Wallace. Also, have some more Jessie Eisenberg!

  1. flanny says:

That is straight-up a Keanu impersonation.

  2. artdorkgirl says:

The Good Dinosaur seems programmed to make me cry, and therefore I will not watch it.

  3. catweazle says:

Judging by his mustache can we safely assume that Alexander Skarsgard is going to try to do it with that teenage girl at some point?

    • artdorkgirl says:

UGH! I saw that and thought, “my teenage diary never featured a Swede with a creepy mustache”. but then, to each their own, I suppose.

I don’t know if I can do the DFW one. I haven’t read the Pale King, I haven’t read Lipsky’s book, It’s more than seven years since his death and that one still, for a “celebrity” I didn’t know, feels really personal.

    • artdorkgirl says:

Manners saw it at the Boston IFF and said it was really good, but I know what you mean.

I have only read DFW’s short stories and essays. I don’t know why, exactly, I don’t feel driven to read the longer stuff? But Girl With Curious Hair got me through a weird time in my life. I will see this movie. Jason Segel looks like maybe he nailed it. (Not sure why there’s no Franco in the trailer; I hope Franco is in the longer version.)

Also American Ultra looks super fun like Zombieland was.
