It’s Friday! That’s All I Got…

Another Friday, another work week in the books.  I don’t know how much dancing I’ll do, given the events that took place, but it is the weekend, and we should try to focus on the better things in life, like this gentleman, struggling to put on his poncho during a baseball game (watch the entire, fantastic sequence here).  I have a couple of parties tonight, and a concert tomorrow, so hopefully that’ll get me in a better mood.  How about you all?

My niece/godchild has graduated from high school, and tomorrow we’re partying about it! Next week I’m heading on an Irish/Scotish adventure. Monsters of the UK, keep an eye out for me. I’ll be the one embarrassing myself with my Yank-ness.

My son is turning 9 tomorrow so we are eating pizza and taking him and his friends to see Inside Out. I think it will be good! Let’s hope. I also completed day 5 of 30 days of Yoga so I’m feeling pretty good about myself. However, I also keep getting sucked into Ghost Adventures because there’s not a lot of great TV on during the day in the summer and I don’t feel great about that.

We’re having a bbq tomorrow, so if anyone’s in Boston and would like to day drink, come on by! Other than that, it’s going to be pretty quiet, which suits me down to the ground. This is sort of my gif approximation of this week:

  4. We have lots of little stuff planned but it’s all very low-key. Still trying to work on doing something special for mr truck’s first Father’s Day. He bought himself the first gift I bought him, then the second, then when I told him he has to stop buying stuff right now, he sent me a link to an idea but it’s just the fancier version of the third thing I got him. So while this just confirms that I’m great at getting stuff he wants, still leaves me a little high and dry. Ps the first gift was Lego Jurassic World and we’ve played it some and it’s delightful!

Thank you for showing me one of the best things I’ve ever seen. Poor poncho man, bringing me such joy in his struggle.

Shout out to my mom who ordered me tickets to a concert because I was in a staff meeting when they went on sale!

The next one – three weeks are going to be VERY stressful, so I am going to try to relax this weekend.

My decision to take two ensemble classes this session blows up in my face a bit this weekend because I have both classes back to back tomorrow, then about an hour break before I have to go to the performance for one of the classes (wherein I will have to watch the Reggae and Rock Instrumentals ensembles play as well), and then on Sunday I have my other class’s performance. And both performances are potlucks so I have to bake too! I would complain more but I brought this all on myself and at least parts of it will be fun so whatevs.

too bad you couldn’t just get on cup duty or something!

    • welcometocostcoiloveyou says:

You could just buy baked goods for the pot luck. I do this every time. 1) I am a terrible cook. 2) I am lazy.

Sprinkles cupcakes or Portillo’s chocolate cake have been office favorites.

      • catweazle says:

Yeah I’m definitely not baking for both. I’ll probably get some Mariano’s cupcakes or something for one of them and then bake cookies for the other.

        • welcometocostcoiloveyou says:

My office also loves Mariano’s baked goods. Apparently, they have chocolate croissants, but they sell out quickly, so I have never tried one.

Ok that poncho video is fantastic. I just forwarded it to all of my coworkers. I went home early with a sore throat yesterday and I am working from home today. It better be all gone by tomorrow because I have brunch plans!

  10. Tonight I’m getting awesome vegetarian Mexican food with some lady friends then seeing a super late night showing (10pm, grandma) of Inside Out with the dude-boy. So hopefully I will be crying tears of joy instead of the sadness/anger tears of the last few days.

I’m in Santa Fe! We’re currently eating at a place that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Naturally, I am thinking of all of you.

This weekend peaked when all four of us in our family tested positive for strep. Unfreakingbelievable!

I’m also having work stress, but it’s gotten to that weird point where it feels like continuing to talk about it is going to make it worse, like the person in college who gets drunk at a party and says something stupid and then apologizes for it again and again until just being around them makes you uncomfortable? Yeah, it’s starting to feel like that. And a close family member is having cancer surgery this week, which keeps a voice screaming in the back of my head “Hey, this is bigger than that work thing!”

So strep for the entire family on top of that? Awesome.

Watching Big Hero 6 with the boys now (and having a beer). Father’s Day in America!
