The 2015 Emmy Nominations

This morning, the nominations for the 67th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were presented by Cat Deely and Uzo Aduba (of OITNB fame).  We can talk up a storm about how long winded and self-congratulatory award shows are (and possibly pointless), but let’s cut the bullshit: this is a pop culture site and we like to talk about TV shows.  I present to you all of the nominees, dumped here for your convenience.

It is pretty harsh that everybody from Kimmy Schmidt got nominated except Ellie Kemper.

  2. flanny says:

For the 250th year in a row, all my Emmy excitement is focused on The Amazing Race. This season wasn’t even that good!

Did anyone watch Houdini? I started watching it on Netflix one day when I was doing laundry, and I thought it was oddly both boring and overly-produced. But I’m willing to be wrong. Does anyone have an opinion? Because I didn’t finish it and would like to if it is actually good.

They were filming Amazing Race in Halifax a couple months ago! I had to dodge a gaggle of frantic people with backpacks while out for a coffee.

        • old man fatima says:

Don’t get too excited, I think it was AR Canada, not the regular one. I can’t imagine sending people to a moderately sized city with great public transport and a very easily accessible airport like “this will be great TV!!!” Just hop on the shuttle, you guys, it’s 2.50$ and you’ll be there in no time. 15 minute long episode.

        • flanny says:

Lady, these contestants would get lost in a bathtub. Don’t overestimate their capabilities.

  3. FRQ says:

Do dramas HAVE TO BE 60-ish minutes long to be considered on for these awards? I would hardly call Transparent a comedy.

  4. People’s reactions are bonkers. I actually saw a headline that said “Empire gets snubbed!” Uh, Taraji P. Henson got nominated and it’s basically a soap opera, so why would it get nominated with the likes of Mad Men and Game of Thrones? Also a headline from TV Guide: “Game of Thrones, Tatiana Maslany lead Emmy Nominations”….um, GOT got a lot, but Tatiana Maslany (while I’m excited for her well-deserved nomination) only got one, so she’s not exactly leading the pack there. People are weird is what I’m saying. PR is weird.

  5. Martinmegs says:

    Tatiana finally!

  6. Marlasinger says:

If Mad Men doesn’t win best drama I am never watching the Emmys again. And if Modern Family wins again, I will also never watch the Emmys again. What I’m trying to say is that this will be my last time watching the Emmys.

  7. Mintie says:

This list of nominations is frankly quite good, Broad City snub aside. Which is really quite weird.

  8. welcometocostcoiloveyou says:

I wish Rectify would have been nominated, but I am very glad to see Tatiana Maslany on this list!
