Park Elsewhere

There’s an eternal battle on the roads between cars and bicycles.  The balance is usually tipped towards automobiles, but once cyclist has had enough.

  1. As a cyclist, this makes my heart happy. I wish that guy would just swoop in to save the day all the time, because something like this happens pretty much everyday (oh hai, cabs).

Someone in my building has an SUV that they regularly park juuuuust on the far edge of the line of the parking spot, making it a very tight squeeze to park next to them. I usually like to imagine a giant grabby claw reaching down from the sky and scooting the back bumper over five inches, but I guess I should stop imagining and start lifting weights.

I am not a road cyclist, so this doesn’t apply to my life much, but I am going to use this as an excuse to air my parking grievance. It bothers me so much watching the people who go to my gym circling the parking lot trying to get a really close spot. YOURE GOING TO THE GYM! Maybe you could count the extra 15 steps that you had to walk as part of your evening workout! Unless its the dead of winter, or you have little kids or an injury, you have no excuse. To make a statement I always park in the last row. That’ll show em! (Not really, but it makes me feel better about my choices.)
