Keep It Together, Guys

Look, I know meeting Bruce Campbell is a BIG DEAL, but you’re professional local TV people.  You need to get your shit together and tell us how hot it’s going to be for the next 4 days, not spout off a bunch of weird city names in the Midwest.  Also, lady, maybe you should report on huge pileup on I-94, rather than take a selfie in front of a green screen.  Sheesh!

I can’t listen because I’m at work, but did they know he was coming? Was this a surprise visit? If Bruce Campbell showed up at my work unannounced I would faint dead away.

  2. artdorkgirl says:

Best line in the whole thing has to be Bruce Campbell saying “don’t dispute me.”

  3. Casey says:

Real talk: I have read Bruce’s autobiography at least 10 times.

  4. About a month ago I saw Army of Darkness all the way through without out the sound on in a bar…twice in a week…at different bars…in different states. I really don’t think I missed much without the sound.

    Also, Bruce Campbell is wonderful.

I wrote a song about him for my band Bitchin’ Summer called “Bruce Campbell Army,” but I don’t think we’ll ever learn it. It is very much a person history of my life with Bruce. A paean, if you will.

Many moons ago, I was fortunate enough to meet Bruce and get a photo taken with him. However, I made the dumbest face when they snapped the picture, so I’m always reluctant to show it to people, even though it’s Bruce Campbell.

I live literally a mile off I-94 so I got slightly paranoid for a second when you mentioned a huge pile up there.

Will you guys still be my friend if I tell you I don’t know who he is? Can someone educate me on the top 3 things I need to watch/read to get in the loop? #HMHomework

He’s the patron saint of b-movie actors and nerdy kids. Watch Evil Dead 2, Army of Darkness (in any order…Army is a standalone sequel, and is more of a cheesy action movie, Evil Dead 2 is more horror, but still hilarious and bizarre…I’d maybe skip Evil Dead 1 entirely as Evil Dead 2 is basically a way-superior remake and not a sequel) and the pilot of “The Adventures of Brisco County Jr” to test your tolerance of his hammy ways. That autobiography I mentioned is a fun, easy read, but may only be interesting if you like his movies and want to know how they were made.

      • He’s also the best part of Burn Notice (which was good for the first 4 seasons).

        • Casey says:

I have somehow still never seen this show!

I’ll also mention that he was the guy that Old Spice turned to to relaunch their brand when they were ready to start getting “weird” (pre-Terry Crews).
