Killing Them Softly With Cheap Swedish Furniture

Robots have proven to be good at doing a bunch of stuff, but two researchers in Singapore may have found one of their weaknesses.  Francisco Suárez-Ruiz and Quang-Cuong Pham of the Nanyang Technological University attempted to get robots to build an Ikea chair, but because of their limited vision ability, they struggled to even get a damn peg into a hole.  We may the advantage in chair assembly for now, but we all know that humans are idiots and will continue to improve the machines until they can build Ikea fortresses in a matter of minutes.

The robots have a one up on us though because they won’t get splinters when then struggle to fit a peg into a hole that’s a smidge too small.
