Enjoy Your Thanksgiving With Great Care, Love, and Dignity

Let me be among the first to wish you and all of your family and loved ones a very Happy Thanksgiving!  We’ll be off for the next 2 days, so please take this time to eat turkey, trample over hordes of people for a cheap TV, or whatever you like to do during this holiday.  If you can’t resist the urge to comment, feel free to use this space as an open thread.  Tell us your plans again, or share what you’re most thankful for this year, or any topic your heart desires.  You’ve earned it!*

*This is an assumption on my part.  I don’t know whether or not you’re deserving of a miscellaneous topic, but we’ll just go with it.

My plans are just to eat too much food with my friends so I’ll tell you about the haunted tales walking tour I took last night. It ended up being more of a tour where murderers lived, but we did stop at the hotel where they filmed a scene in Ghostbusters. Once we were waiting to cross the street and a homeless person pulled down her pants to go to the bathroom right there next to us. We also saw a movie being filmed, so it was a pretty good intro to LA for the tourists (I was the only local person on the tour).

I learned that there are three miles of tunnel running underneath downtown LA and you can basically just stroll right into them during business hours. I visited the knife store where OJ Simpson probably bought the knife he may or may not have killed his wife with — apparently he was filming a TV show called Frogmen that got him interested in knives, but the show never came out because of the whole murder trial thing. We went to the hotel that inspired this season of American Horror Story. All in all, a good way to spend two hours.

I’m driving over to my mom’s tomorrow. I just want to get to the part of Thanksgiving where I’m full of good food and sitting around mom’s living room in my pajamas.

I’m still just on the first season of Party of Five, and Bailey’s still not an alcoholic yet, although he is literally the biggest douchebag ever. Sorry that you’re such a terrible boyfriend that your girlfriend wants to move to CT and go to boarding school just to not be around you anymore. However, last episode, he was trashing around in sweats to Live like it was super hardcore, and that made me laugh! I still like Claudia, but I’ve decided that if I had to choose a Most Under-appreciated Little Sister in a 90s Teen Drama it’s going to be Danielle Chase.

He is also the worst Billy Lee ever

I was recording Party of Five reruns on my DVR for a while, and suddenly, in like the middle of the third season, they just stopped airing it. How rude! At least cancel the reruns after you show all of them.

This also happened when I started recording reruns of the OC. Will I ever get to see these shows in their entirety???

We had our Thanksgiving in October, so I’ll be working like a chump for the next two days. On the weekend we’re going to visit Mr Fatima’s parents on Saturday in the day, then in the evening I have a gift exchange with m y girlfriends, and on Sunday a bunch of us are going Xmas party dress shopping. I scoped out the stores we’re going to online and there are several very cute gold sequined dresses for not-too-much money, but I have learned the hard way that fun party dresses are way too short for me. I’m not insanely tall, but I am 90% torso like a corgi so if it’s not “knee-length” it’s not going to cover my ass. The alternative is that I have a really great skirt that’s way too fancy to ever wear irl so maybe I can find a nice top to go with it and wear that. It’s similar to this, except that the stripes are wider and the black bits are leather:

Double alternatively, I bought a reindeer onesie recently.

I hate when you find a great dress, and realize it is way too short.

I never buy anyone gifts during black Friday/cyber Monday sales, but I do stock up on stuff I need, like jeans and shoes and maybe a coat. I bought a ton of stuff earlier, and saved over $100. Everything was half off, then there were multiple coupon codes you could enter to save even more. Happy holidays to me!

I’m going to my Aunt and Uncle’s house tomorrow. I’m not a huge Thanksgiving fan but as long as there are mashed potatoes I don’t mind it. I have to work on Friday but in the evening I’m going shopping for Christmas decorations with my sisters. Last year the Christmas stuff wasn’t on sale for the most part which was dumb so I hope that’s different this year because I spent too much money on my trip and am on a much stricter budget than usual!

  5. Having Friendsgiving tomorrow with 9 of us. It’s going to be lovely. I made pickled green beans earlier and am starting a few other things in a bit. There’s going to be too much food and drinks, so I’m wearing leggings so my stomach has room.

Happy Thanksgiving, Monsters! I miss you all (as I always say when I get a moment to pop in these days). I am doing Thanksgiving with my parents and the dude I date, and we were in charge of the charcuterie board and also the wine, so… SHOULD BE A GOOD ONE!

  7. I’m riding down to my parent’s house with my brother and sister-in-law, where we will feast. I’m more excited about the sandwiches we always make with the leftovers than the dinner itself.

Family stuff for Thanksgiving. Hopefully meeting up with a friend for brunch at some point this weekend. Mostly just excited that I have a four day weekend even though I have to work from home some of the time.

Got Mr. Costco started on Jessica Jones, so I expect there will be some binge watching of that.

I’M WORKING TODAY AND TOMORROW AND I’M NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. And I’m going to be an insane person and drive the 2 hours to my hometown because I want to eat some Thanksgiving food DAMMIT. Then I’ll drive the 2 hours back and get to bed late and be tired tomorrow morning and just continue the anger spiral.
