Today’s Google Doodle is a Classic

Today’s Google Doodle is super fun! It’s your boy Ludwig von Beethoven’s baptism day (we don’t know when he was actually born)! You get to watch an adorable little cartoon Beethoven go through Grady Tripp-like tribulations concerning the possible destruction and loss of his greatest hits, and then you get to help him put them back together. Oh, it’s so cute!

I’m also really excited about today’s doodle because Beethoven was born all those years ago in Bonn, Germany, which is where I did study abroad. And lately I’ve been feeling homesick for the old Beethovenstadt, so I’ve chosen to illustrate this post with a photo of the Beethoven statue in front of the main post office in Bonn. If you received a letter from me while I was in Germany (which you did not, I knew none of you then), I sent it from this building. It’s an honor to be a Bonner!

About flanny

Flanny was born and raised in a Detroit suburb, but tells people she's from Detroit without clarification because it makes her sound tough. She is not tough. Her favorite member of One Direction is Louis Tomlinson, and her favorite Agatha Christie detectives are Tommy and Tuppence.

More of an honor to be a Bonner than a Donner.
