What have you all been watching? I’m still watching Legion, though my enthusiasm for the show is waning. There are enough interesting things happening to keep me going, but I feel like it progresses slowly, and I’m starting to lose my patience. That being said, there are other shows that start at the same pace, but ultimately pay off. I hope this is the case with this program.

Is anyone else watching Baskets? Louis Anderson is just fantastic on that show.
I watched part of Chicago Justice, and it’s fine. I don’t watch Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, or the medical one – Chicago Med? But original Law & Order is one of my favorites, and Chicago Justice has the same creator. Plus, I want to see what areas of the city they use for filming.
I always thought it would be fun to be an extra on Law & Order – you know a jury member, a concerned passerby of a crime scene, etc. – but since I’ve never been to New York, that never panned out. I’ll probably look into being an extra on this new show.
I watch PD and Fire. I thought the Justice premiere was incredibly weak because the legal process was portrayed in such an unrealistic way. But being an extra would be fun! I’ll watch if you’re on it!
A guy from my gym was just an extra on a UK drama, he was a jury member! And now everyone is treating him like a celebrity, it’s hilarious. One woman leaned over to me in spin class the other day and went, “pssssst is that him? Is that the guy? Doesn’t he look younger in real life?”
So they’re actually filming in Chicago? Something I always appreciated about Law & Order is that it was actually filmed in New York. Well, except for the precinct interior, which I believe was on a soundstage in New Jersey. I also liked seeing a bunch of lesser-known New York actors getting cast in L&O.
Living in Seattle, it bothers me that very few things set here are actually filmed here, although I’ll admit to playing the silent game of “how badly did they try to make Vancouver look like Seattle” whenever I watch anything set here.
I’ve been sticking to movies this week, although I did watch another episode of The Expanse. But I also watched Fury (true fact: Shia LaBoeuf is very good in that), Black Belly of the Tarantula, and something else I’m forgetting, like a thing that was free on Amazon Prime and bad so I quit before finishing maybe? You think I’d know. Alas, my brain is made of the smoothest custard.
Down to the wire on The Bachelor! I got bumped down to 2nd place on my fantasy league, which is fine because the prizes I got are more fun for me to give to someone else and also it’s no fun to win something that you run. So first prize is a tank top that says “I need a Raquel” and a pair of Chris Harrison earrings; second prize is Chris Harrison earrings (which I REALLY wanted last year when I gave them as a prize).
I’m guessing Vanessa wins even though I think they both deserve better.
Can’t wait for The Bachelorette.
Also watched all of 11.22.63 and I have many mixed feelings about it. It was fine I guess. It’s original and not a remake (except of the book), so that’s bonus points, but I think there’s a lot that could have been explored that they didn’t.
NBC was on as background noise yesterday, and I swear I heard the ladies that were hosting the entertainment segment say that there was a THREE HOUR episode of the Bachelor? That’s so many hours! Is it on multiple night a week? It can be a full time job to keep up with some of these shows LOL.
It’s normally two hours a week, but this week and next week there are three hours each Monday, which is a big time commitment. I went to my trainer’s place to watch with him after the gym and didn’t get home until 1 am and now I’m exhausted but it was worth it.
You guys should do sit ups WHILE watching. Multi tasking!!
Yeah, the bummer thing is that it’s 1 hour of actual show and 2 hours of The Women Tell All which is mostly filler. Next week is 2 hours of actual show and 1 hour of “After the Final Rose” which is sometimes interesting.
I wish I could watch live as I like to tweet about it, but my parents will be in town so why subject them to that garbage?
I have been catching up on CW shows that I’m behind on and I am reluctantly enjoying Riverdale. I just can’t resist a good teen drama. The pilot was horrible but the later episodes have gotten better.
Do you watch iZombie? Season 3 starts soon. I’ve been rewatching season 1, and I love it so much!
I will probably check out Riverdale when it hits Netflix.
I watched season 1 but kind of fell off of it on season 2. I’ve been meaning to catch back up on it though, I always thought it was really charming.
I have been watching Riverdale too and I’m gonna keep watching but I’m still not sure about it. I feel like they are blowing through every teen soap storyline like one per ep…murder mystery, teacher affair, secret preggo etc. how are they going to be able to sustain it?
Basically I’m desperate for anything to fill the teen soap void now that vampire diaries ended
Oh I watched the first two episodes of Big Little Lies! Where’s Mikaelajm? Who else watched? Reese Witherspoon is basically dusting off her Tracy Flick character.
I’m here!!!! Yesss!!! I really like Reese Witherspoon in that role; she was great as Tracy Flick and I think the grown-up version is also compelling.

I have some questions! Do we know who’s dead???????? Also, did the new kid hurt the girl, did someone else choke her, or did she do it herself? It’s super weird that they didn’t try to get to the bottom of that. The show makes us root against Laura Dern but honestly if someone put hands on my daughter, I’d burn that school to the ground. Why did the Insurgent girl move to the new town? And is she biologically old enough to have a first grader?
We don’t know who’s dead and we don’t know who hurt the little girl. That teacher is the worst. That whole scene where they gathered all the students and parents and had the girl point to who did it was almost bad enough to get me to stop watching right there. Fortunately it has gotten better.
I think the only reason so far that they’ve given for Shailene Woodley moving there is that the public schools are very good. I might be forgetting something though. I don’t know if we know how old her character is, but she’s 25 so if she had a kid at 18 or 19 it would probably be in first grade.
Ahhhh, so I watched the 3rd episode last night and it includes one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen on television!! (Hyperbole? Hyperbole.) Let me know when you see it so we can talk about the therapy scene!!
Also, a v plausible hypothesis that I’ve seen on the internet vis-a-vis the little girl is that one of the twins (Nicole Kidman’s sons) did it because he was mimicking behavior he learned at home.
Side note: I think Shailene Woodley is terrific in this role. I haven’t seen her in much else, but I think she’s super convincing as a young single mom, which can’t be that easy to play.
I’m hella late to this convo (hi everyone!), but wow, I really like that theory! I suspected one of the twins either way but didn’t put the motivation together even though it is SO OBVIOUS. Duh. Anyway, I am finding myself very interested in what happens in this show, even though I find its existence utterly unnecessary — oooh a story about how rich white ladies have problems too, how novel!
