A new generation of pranksters is born

Editor’s Note: This post was originally written several days ago, but I’ve been slacking pretty hard recently and didn’t see this until now.  Let’s just call this a special post-Father’s Day article.  Sorry gnidrah.  😦

Is that the pitter-patter of tiny feet you can hear? YES. YES, IT IS.

For Amal and George Clooney are officially the proud parents of twins, Ella and Alexander. Props. This is a happy time for everyone. Except, along with those tiny feet, there’s another noise you can hear: PRANKS.

“This morning, Amal and George welcomed Ella and Alexander Clooney into their lives. Ella, Alexander and Amal are all healthy, happy and doing fine”, said the couple. Then they added this: “George is sedated and should recover in a few days.”

Oh great.

This is particularly bad news for Brad Pitt, whose career, lest we forget, Clooney has promised to end with his next prank (though anyone who saw Mr & Mrs Smith or Snatch might argue Brad doesn’t necessarily need help in doing that) – and now he’s got two new willing helpers. And as for poor old Matt Damon, who had his clothes taken in a tiny little bit every day by the Clooneymeister in an attempt to make him think he was gaining weight (oh my aching sides), yeah, he’s in trouble.

Congratulations, Clooneys! Commiserations, Hollywood celebrities!

Were these twins born on the same day as Beyonce’s twins? That would be twintastic! (Sorry, I need more caffeine.)

    Also, pranks are rarely funny.

Imagine if they had been! ULTIMATE SHOWBIZ PRANK.

Unfortunately, as our fairy blogmother notes, these babies were born about two weeks ago… 😉 & Beyonce’s… we’re going by Matthew Knowles’s Twitter, right? So I have no idea.

      • taoreader says:

Right. So I read that it was “reported” that Queen Bey’s twins were born, but no one seemed to know the gender(s), which sounds like very little info indeed. Unless Bey and Jay Z are being totally cool progressive gender neutral parents? Is that a thing that happens?

Sleuth work: the pregnancy announcement insta was on 1st Feb, and she’s got to be five-six months there (look I’m not a doctor and every woman is different, don’t be mad at me) so it’s highly possible we’re at baby o’ clock. I await the typically Bey-Jay birth announcement, perhaps a banner plane, perhaps a fancy dress party, perhaps a projection onto the White House? Or just a boring old new album? Can’t even wait.

Re: gender neutral, I read an interview with a British TV host the other day who said she is raising her children gender fluid, so I can’t see why not! 🙂

Those babies have to be adorable. I’m available to babysit!

I still think the Matt Damon clothes prank was pretty funny. Brad Pitt’s fame has taken on such insane proportions that I actually forget he’s an actor and it’s jarring when he has a movie come out. He’s always on the cover of magazines for not-good reasons.

Why do you guys think certain actors like Brad, Angelina, and Jen are always in the gossip rags while other mega-famous actors aren’t? Are the actors complicit in alerting paparazzi to their locations as some kind of PR ploy or do magazines just think we care about certain actors more than others?

    • I think that with so many stars communicating directly with fans on social media now, it’s got to be hard to think of new stuff to pretend to be scandalized about.

    • gnidrah says:

I’m impressed at how he played the long game, that’s for sure. But nobody do it to me, ok?!

Re: magazines… My boss used to work for celeb gossip rags & he claimed there was some mythical sales increase when certain faces appeared on covers, e.g. Princess Diana. I don’t know if that’s why they put Clooney, Aniston etc? We buy the mag if they’re on it?

    • welcometocostcoiloveyou says:

I’m glad I have not seen Jennifer Aniston’s name in a while. It’s always something criticizing her body, criticizing her past relationships, or criticizing her for not baring children. I don’t understand why anyone cares about any of those things, but why did she get nominated to seemingly take more crap than other Hollywood ladies?
