What are you doing this weekend? I should probably leave the house or something, but I decided to start an Inspector Lewis re-watch (Flanny’s fault) and really, what’s a better use of a weekend than marathoning a TV show I’ve seen in its entirely at least three times already?

Your gif reminds me I need to rewatch the first half of season 1 of Mad Men, and then watch the rest of Mad Men for the first time.
My laundry saga came to a thrilling end yesterday guys! I collected my still damp dirty clothes from around the apartment and brought it all down to the creepy basement and said a prayer to our lord Xenu and started the washer and miracle of miracles, there was water! I was so relieved that my first-string clothes would be clean again! Finally! And then I went down to move everything in the dryer, and when I tossed in the first items I heard a splash. Because THERE WAS A POOL OF WATER IN THE BOTTOM OF THE DRYER. In the M. Night Shyamanelan adaptation of this event I would like to be played by Cate Blanchett.
Today is my baby sister’s birthday and she’s coming over to hang out at my place while I am on call for work. Once my on call shift ends on Saturday afternoon I will probably sleep for a long time and then work on some of my surgery fundraiser rewards. I have a scarf to finish knitting and three songs to record!
Oh and if rewatching shows were an Olympic sport I would be a gold medalist. Gilmore Girls is probably my most rewatched, but I’ve also rewatched Parks and Rec, Gossip Girl, 30 Rock, New Girl, Buffy, Elementary, RuPaul’s Drag Race, The Vampire Diaries and Don’t Trust the B-word in Apartment 23 at least three or four times each if not more.
Don’t Trust the B is criminally underappreciated by the world.
It is also criminally under-GIFed! I tried to find a dancing GIF and there were none even though there is a whole arc about James being on Dancing with the Stars! So I had to settle for this.
Most rewatched shows: Veronica Mars, Friends, and Seinfeld.
Sitcoms are just such great background noise, and TBS had a good block of time dedicated to Friends and Seinfeld. I don’t have cable now, but thanks to Hulu and Netflix, I have access to an endless stream of sitcoms with no commercials.
I even enjoyed King of Queens – it was usually on before the Friends and Seinfeld block. It’s not the greatest sitcom, but Jerry Stiller is consistently hilarious, and it has its moments.
I’ve been re-watching Happy Endings on a loop for the last two years. I can’t go more than a week without watching at least a few episodes, and I’ve gone through the series probably 30 times at least. And I’m still catching jokes for the first time! There’s so many layers of cultural references and sight gags.
Every few years I re-watch Sports Night, and it holds up. It’s been awhile but Frasier is usually an enjoyable re-watch, too.
Recently rewatched shows: Parks & Rec, 30 Rock, Arrested Development, and started Kimmy Schmidt just now!
Other fun rewatch fact: saw Necessary Roughness this morning! I watched that movie a million times as a kid and it does NOT hold up. I was gonna write a whole thing about how bad it is and how could it possibly have gotten made, but I’m typing on my iPad and it’s kind of tough, so I’ll just say it’s terrible across the board. Go watch it!
This weekend I’m going to the soccer game tomorrow and that’s it! Should be fun!

Story: Today when I got in my office there was a weird moth hanging out on the wall next to my window with some sort of SOMETHING under it. So I googled “moth eggs on wall” and basically saw a picture that was what I was seeing. Our dean is an entomologist so I sent her a photo and she told me that it was a gypsy moth which is an invasive species and that it’d be best for the environment if I killed it and destroyed the egg sac. So I tried to steal myself to kill it, but I am a week suburbanite, and the two women who work across the hall grew up on farms, so I called them over. They trapped it in a cup and then we took it upstairs and a guy with big feet stamped on it. Phew!
This weekend I’m going to spend in my PJs as much as possible! My most rewatchable show used to be Bob’s Burgers, but now that’s off Netflix, so I’m back into an near-constant rewatch of Miss Fisher.

For what it’s worth, I read “week suburbanite” and didn’t even notice. And I do a lot of copyediting, so yeah, I’m great at my job!

This makes me laugh so hard. I’m thirteen years old.
It happened like five years ago but it still makes me laugh every time I think of it and I try to tell the story as much as possible.

I don’t rewatch TV much, but I do movies. I recently watched Constantine for the nth time, I just love Rachel Weisz. And Keanu ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at, amirite martinmegz? Hoping to rewatch The Prestige this weekend.
They also starred in Chain Reaction together but that’s probably not a movie that needs to be watched multiple times.
I forgot about that! Is that the one where Keanu is an engineer or something? From what i remember, I can give it a miss.
It’s my next Keanu Project movie! He was a machinist building pieces for a project to create hydrogen energy out of water.
Rachel Weisz is in About a Boy. Have you seen that movie? It’s one of my most rewatchable movies.
I finished Southpaw last night (thanks for the recommendation tao!). It was good, but man my brain does not compute how anyone can be a boxer. It’s so dangerous and bloody!
I saw About a Boy some years ago, but I don’t remember her in it for some reason. I’ll have to rewatch it.
Southpaw gets a little formulaic in the third act, but the performances are so good. And boxing, yeah, it makes me cringe.
About a Boy is one of my favorite movies; I love a movie with a good character redemption arc. Nick Hornby material is so hit or miss, and this one’s a hit. Given how much I love the movie, I thought I’d hate the TV show but it’s really great, too! In fact I need to re-watch it. Highly recommended.
I forgot about the TV show. I liked season 1, but totally forgot to watch season 2. Oops!
Whenever I hear Hornby interviewed, he’s so engaging I think “Cool! I should read all his books!” Then I get 5 pages in and I remember why he is not for me.
Omg I could watch Say Yes to the Dress over and over again. It’s like a drug.
We’re going to Philly for the weekend. The kids got us a nice spa gift certificate for Christmas and we’ll finally have a chance to use it!
Oh and I forgot to tell you, if you watch the netflix Joe Mande standup special, he tells a story about going to a mike hukcabee taping. Kelly tells me that was for a Videogum post!
My most rewatched show is absolutely Star Trek The Next Generation. I watched it as it aired. I watched it when they showed reruns during the regular run. I watched it in syndication when it was on every weekday. And I’ve watched it a couple of times all the way through on Netflix, but I’m also an insufferable nerd. On the topic of my insufferable nerddom, I’ve also watched Babylon 5 probably four or five times all the way through, and I’ve watched Gargoyles and Xena a bunch.
Arrested Development is probably the only normal show I’ve watched multiple times, but since it had such a short run, it’s a more digestible morsel, whereas most other shows are too much of an insurmountable hurdle to get through, especially with my cursed adulting responsibilities.
