So, How Was Your Day?

Mine was good! I got a lot done at work, and then a lot done at home. Plus it was above 20 degrees AND my Amazon decided I was due for another free Prime trial, so I have 30 days to catch up on movies and check out The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Please recommend good movies that are free on Prime right now (Moonlight and The Big Sick are already on my list).

I made a joke on Twitter about Jesus being gay and now I am reading wikipedia articles about Jesus and mentally outlining a young adult romance about Jesus and John the Apostle’s forbidden love.

Theresa, it looks like Arrival is on Amazon Prime. I loved that movie. It is sad, but also beautiful.

    • That’s one I’ve seen! I really liked it too, and was very intrigued by the changes they made from the story it’s based on, two in particular (without being spoilery for anyone else: in the movie, a male character was made less important, while a female character’s choice was made far more controversial, which was unexpected and interesting).

I should check out the short story! Thanks for the heads up.

I adored the inky language circles. I even found the artist responsible to see if she sold prints of them. Sadly, she does not.

        • You’re welcome! It’s called Story Of Your Life, by Ted Chiang, and it’s super different from the movie in other ways, too, but those ways are more typical of what you’d expect from a film adaptation.

LOL. That book is already on my Goodreads “to read” list. Guess I better get cracking on actually reading the books I add.

My Prime movie reccs are Hello, My Name Is Doris and Chef. The Keanu lawyer movie is watchable but not great.

I got into the self-tanning game this week because, despite living in a warm climate, I’m very pale. I decided the other day that I’m so pale, I actually look sick. So I went to Sephora and got a sample of a self-tanner that you mix in with your moisturizer and now I have a slight color on my face! So that makes me happy. And the heart rate monitor I got for Christmas automatically displays on the treadmill at the gym so I can monitor it in real time instead of just on the app after my workout, which also makes me happy. But I’m on a grueling deadline this month that involves making a lot of edits under duress and I quit my job about 20 times yesterday (in my head) so I better get back to that.
