It’s Friday! Let’s Dance!

What are you doing this weekend? We’re in for another nasty storm here, so I plan on spending some quality time with my couch and TV.

    Friday already!

I just finished all of “Turn” which was fun. Looking toward a weekend of memoir writing and restructuring. And maybe sushi, I got a hankerin’ for sushi.

This is my third long weekend in a row, but I’ve got a lot in store for it. Tonight I’ll be getting sushi with some friends, then tomorrow night I’ll be going to a seafood place. Rumor has it that it’s a popular spot for celebrities to dine when they’re in town filming movies, so I’m hoping for a sighting. I have somehow seen more celebrities in Detroit’s airport than I have in this city.

I’m also thinking of seeing a movie at some point. My initial thought was to see The Disaster Artist, but with all of the hullabaloo surrounding James Franco. If I decide against it, I, Tonya is plan B, which has slightly less convenient show times, but I can make due.

A very short-lived but very annoying snowstorm turned my three-day weekend into a four-day weekend. I was supposed to help film a video with a hundred-year-old tortoise (Jojo) this afternoon, but the snow would not let up this morning. That is, it would not let up until a half an hour after I decided I wasn’t going to the office and had put my sweats on. Someday I’ll get a chance to see you, Jojo. Someday. But not today.

OK we’re going to need more details on this tortoise situation.

She lives in the biology department on campus and sometimes they let her out for exercise and she just wanders around the hallways of the basement so students will be walking to class or to a meeting and there’s Jojo just plodding around being amazing and I’m obsessed with seeing her but I want it to happen naturally. My greatest dream is that I’ll just come upon her during one of her walks and we’ll become best friends, but I’ll take filming her for a project, too.

I might try to finally see Thor Ragnarok this weekend at the nearby drafthouse. It seems like a good movie to have a beer while watching.

I joined a women’s hiking group on Facebook and now I have a hike set up for this weekend! I’ve been wanting to do the MASH hike for a year or so, and now I finally get to visit the site where they filmed the show!

I’m starting a new music class tomorrow which will be my last one at the school I’ve been going to for like six years since I’m moving in a couple of months. This class is all student-written songs so it will be very interesting. I’m kind of nervous about bringing in my own material and even more nervous about my classmates bringing in material that sucks and I have to pretend to like.

Otherwise I have no real plans except maybe seeing Phantom Thread.
