How Was Your Weekend?

I was very lazy and mostly watched movies and read. Soon the weather will be better for good and I won’t have the excuse to stay inside all weekend.

I had to get up at 5:00 IN THE MORNING on Saturday to go to a work event. I slept until noon on Sunday to make up for it. 🙂

Theresa, what movies did you watch and what books are you reading?

And, I’m with you on the weather. I keep telling myself that once it gets nicer, I won’t be a hermit anymore. It’s sunny and 50 degrees in Illinois today!!

    • I wanted to watch Lady Bird but it’s not available to rent until tomorrow, so I watched Frances Ha and Mistress America because I was still in a Greta Gerwig kind of mood. I read The Last Policeman by Ben H. Winters, which was very good–a murder mystery with a sci-fi twist.

Lady Bird has been available to rent on Google Play for a week or two, but it was $14.99, so I was planning to wait until it goes down to $4.99. I just looked at Google Play, and they are running a special to rent any movie for $1.99, so that’s a nice sale.

I will add The Last Policeman to my Goodreads list. Sounds interesting.

I went to Milwaukee to look at apartments and saw some really shitty places and a couple of good ones. There’s one I would be fine moving into but I have an eye on some others that I’m going to try to see this weekend. I also started packing and it’s just as horrible as I remembered. Yesterday I was back home and I went to see Annihilation partially because I wanted to and partially because there is a mouse in my apartment and I don’t want to be at home until my humane mouse traps arrive. The movie was very good and very very weird!

I spent some time with my sister which means I spent some time with margaritas. Also wrote an essay I’m going to revise and submit somewhere. This was all before Sunday, when I watched a lot of Amazon Prime and ate chips and guac. Pretty good weekend!

Also, you guys, for once on my dating app, I saw a guy with potential. So I texted and he texted back, and now he’s ghosted. Which is fine, we never met or anything. But he was quite handsome.

I had a lot of work and not much desire to leave the house, so I stayed home except for two trips to Trader Joe’s. I went Saturday night so I could do meal prep on Sunday, but they didn’t have the frozen entree I planned to eat for lunch all week. I mentioned this to a worker, who offered to put some on hold for me when the shipment came in the next morning. I said “you can do that???” And he said, “We’re Trader Joe’s! We can do anything!” And they did! I went back Sunday night for my chicken burrito bowls, and sure enough they had sold out except for the boxes they stockpiled for me in back.

My only excitement was that my interview with the actor who played Logan on Gilmore Girls/Cary Agos on The Good Wife was finally published. I had been sitting on that for a few weeks because his new show was on hiatus during the Olympics, but The Resident is back tonight and everyone should watch it! He was so gracious to talk with me, and he’s a really nice and interesting person.
