Tuesday TV Talk

The Lost In Space reboot debuted this past week on Netflix.  I have not seen it, but people I know say it’s fun but ultimately pointless, which is how I feel about the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movies.

I watched Wild, Wild Country on Netflix this weekend! Wow!!! Don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but wow! Very fascinating.
We’ve started season 3 of Halt & Catch Fire which is pretty good already.

Considering stealing my own grandmother’s Netflix to watch that show – looks very interesting!

I finished Before We Die. It was not a disappointing ending! Which doesn’t happen often! Also finished the new Agatha Christie adaptation Ordeal By Innocence, which I really enjoyed – I’ll be interested to know what you guys make of it if and when it airs for you. They changed or added something to the end apparently, and I think I could guess which bit it was… It wasn’t bad, just unnecessary. Now I need some new shows!!

Did you guys know they made a reboot of ReBoot?! It’s on Netflix! I have not watched it yet, butnit is on my list!

The past two nights I’ve put my life on hold to attend a noire film festival, so I’ve seen Kiss Me Deadly, City of Fear, Dark City, and Armored Car Robbery. If you dig noire, I would recommend Kiss Me Deadly, it got weird and borderline great. David Lynch could almost have made this in 1958. Dark City was also good; it is Charlton Heston’s first movie and (Tracey) also features a youngish (1950) Harry Morgan/Colonel Potter.

That sounds like so much fun, I am jealous.

Sometimes I think I am finally done with LA, it’s a horrible place — and then I notice that I live 4 blocks from a theater showing noire double features all week. And like that, I am lured back in. What a dreamy place!

(But to alleviate your jealousy: I didn’t go to the noires last night. I only fried eggs for dinner and watched a movie on Netflix and cleaned a little. Then I was somehow wide awake until 3:15 — so I used that time to finally get screengrabs of the movie you assigned me when you won the Movie-Choosing Contest thirty weeks ago. If work slows down today, I will try to write actual captions and word-bubble stuff… we will see! I am tired and my neck hurts.)

I’ve been watching season 3 of Better Call Saul, and it’s a really good season so far. I also need to catch up on iZombie.

I haven’t had as much time to just sit and watch something, so I’m way behind on shows that I want to pay attention to. Old episodes of Law & Order and Gilmore Girls are my main background noise shows.

I think Bosch has a new season. I have a whole week of TV to catch up on when I get home tomorrow so that should make for an exciting weekend.

I started watching The Frankenstein Chronicles and now I’m hooked. Already halfway through season two. There have been times when I literally wished I weren’t eating when I watched it. So many corpses, you guys.
