So, How Was Your Day?

It’s FINALLY spring here! The weather has been great, which is good news for my mood. Otherwise nothing much is going on, which is exactly how I like it.

I had a chance to go to a luncheon today where the speaker was Judge Rosemarie Aquilina, who was the judge for the Larry Nassar trial. Oooh, was she ever amazing! She couldn’t talk much about the trial, but she talked a lot about her life and how she’s always just done what she wanted to do and not let anyone tell her no. She had two babies while in law school and was the state’s first female JAG and is hilarious on top of it. Totally a very cool lady.

Maryland is sunny and lovely today and I had sushi for lunch. No complaints!

TBH not that great. Today is my son’s first birthday! That’s great! He’s very cute and I’m very excited!
On the other hand, I was up a bunch last night with my daughter who is sick and today was going okay, but then my daycare called and long story short, there was a mistake with the billing and we owe them a ton of money and they were like “you have to pay this week or your kids can’t come back next week”! since it’s the first of the month, we have to put it on a credit card but their system only takes Discover (what?) so I frantically applied for a discover card but can’t pay online until I get the physical card (also what?) and we just have to deal with a lot of “we thought we had money right now but turns out whoops nope” and I had to call and explain this to the center and had to be like “we can’t pay until next week…please don’t kick my kids out” which is really embarrassing but thankfully they agreed. We’re going on vacation tomorrow and I’m so tired and so many things have been so difficult lately and I just need a vacation, but now we have to watch every penny and I just really need life to cut me a break. I just wanted to have a relaxing day celebrating my kid’s birthday!

I’m working outdoors at a coffee/motorcycle shop where 100% of the patrons have MacBooks and 50% have amazing dogs, so I just got to pet the most adorable squishy faced pupper. Very good addition to the work day.
