TV Talk Takeover!

I’m watching a lot of TV right now. Some might say it’s too much TV. I would say it’s too much TV. But, as a result, I decided to queue up a TV talk this week. My summer shows include The Bachelorette, Big Brother, Shooter, The 100, The Bold Type, and Younger. Please let me know if you have questions about any of these shows and I will be happy to talk at length about them. I’m also halfway through a re-watch of show I saw when it originally aired and I have become VERY invested (some might say too invested).

Covert Affairs! Although originally on USA, it’s now on Amazon Prime and I have been totally sucked into it. Luckily I don’t remember almost anything about what happens in each episode. There are so many characters to love on this show. It also gives me nostalgia for the days when USA network had so many fun summer shows: Psych, Burn Notice, White Collar, Royal Pains. I’m given to understand that some people liked Monk. Basically they established themselves as the fun show network, then suddenly they decided they only wanted to have bummer shows and that one reality show about a guy named Chrissley or whatever. What a strange programming decision.

But watching Covert Affairs is making me think that I would be a great spy. A GREAT spy. First of all, foreign agents would look at me and think, well there’s no way she passed the CIA physical. Subterfuge! I already travel a lot on my own so my cover is established. I can keep a secret like nobody’s business even if I’m super drunk. I bet I could beat that truth serum stuff. I wouldn’t be susceptible to bribery because the only thing I need money for is traveling. HMU, Deep State.

So what are you guys watching? And what show from any point in TV history would you want to inhabit?

  1. Hey, I get to be regular commenter again! Except that I haven’t watched anything in ages. Maybe I’ll make up for that this weekend.

I don’t know why I’m mostly rewatching old things when there are so many things to watch that I’ve never seen, but I am watching old iZombie episodes and old Arrested Development episodes.

No spoilers! This season of the Handmaid’s Tale is over. It was good, and I’m on board for season 3. Although, I hope they quit while they are ahead because even though it is an extremely well done show, I could see it very easily tipping into jump the shark territory.

I get “Covert Affairs” and “Chuck” mixed up in my mind because we watched both of them on Netflix in succession, both years after they had been out. Covert Affairs had the blind coworker, right?
