Mine was great! I got a lot done and left the house TWICE. Two times!!
I felt sick to my stomach all day Saturday about what happened at the US Open. I became nauseated the moment the conflict started, and it escalated so far beyond what I could have imagined. I got yelled at by an anonymous jerk for writing that Osaka was crowned the US Open champion on a social account for a magazine, instead of saying she won it, which is just, like, ugh. Gimme a break. God I hate social media.
Sunday morning I had a very intense 2-hour tennis match, mostly because it was so hot that I keeled over after every point. Then I watched the US Open men’s final, took a 2-hour nap, did some chores and food prep, finished a book, and watched TV.
I haven’t watched the Serena/umpire clip for exactly that reason–I’d get angry-sick with no one to yell at but my dog.
I asked my sister to stay with me most of the weekend because I wasn’t feeling well. She said she was proud of me for asking for help. Apparently I’m not good at that! She is no doubt correct.
I re-watched Deadpool in preparation for watching Deadpool 2, which I plan to do this week. So that was an important goal accomplished.
I’ve been super busy with house projects and hanging out with my family that is in from out of town.
My dad didn’t want his piano anymore, so on Thursday, he had it delivered it to me. It’s really awesome (and a little weird) to have a piano in my dining room, but I don’t throw dinner parties, so I didn’t have a table there anyway 🙂 I really don’t know how to play the piano, but my goal is to someday be able to play Cornflake Girl by Tori Amos, because holy shit, the piano solos in that song are amazing.
Last night, we got Greek food, and there are delicious leftovers to enjoy later.
I need piano deets! Maker? Model? Upright? Baby grand? Black? Brown?
All I know for sure is that it is a brown, baby grand. I know the maker starts with an H, but I’ll have to check to see the name and model.
Baby grand, nice. A Hofmann or a Hohner maybe?
My weekend was nothing to write home about. Now I’m back at work and I think I’m getting sick! I have a vacation planned on Thursday and I really need it to not get canceled!
Sunday was a rainfest again, but I got over my anxiety and went to a planned reunion event of Peace Corps volunteers. Eight of us in the same group live in the area and have never all gotten together. Six of us have elementary school-aged kids, and they all became fast friends. Some of the volunteers I hadn’t seen in almost 20 years (we got back to America in late fall 1999). It was a blast! If we get a nice crisp fall weekend in the future (after Florence comes through and we dry out for a few weeks, God willing), I’d like to host everyone for a fire pit for s’mores.
