Docs for Monsters! Also, what did you have for lunch?

I’m baking a Blake’s gluten-free shepherd’s pie. There are some, I think, peas in it? So points for a vegetable, right?

Here’s a list of the documentaries people brought up yesterday for easy looking-up purposes. I threw in a few that I’ve seen and really like.

If you’re not really into docs, but you love a great story, try Three Identical Strangers and Deep Water.

Please add your own if you like and maybe I can keep a running list.

Fyre Fraud (Hulu)

Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened (NF Streaming)

The Barkley Marathons (AM Prime)

Three Identical Strangers (NF DVD)

Side by Side  (NF DVD)

Helvetica (NF DVD)

Trekkies (NF DVD or buy on YT) (There’s also a Trekkies 2!)

Deep Water (YT free) This may be my all-time favorite doc.

Wild Wild Country (NF Streaming)

Evil Genius (NF Streaming)

Amy (NF Streaming)

The Keepers (NF Streaming) (TW for abuse. So, so good though)

During lunch I’ll be at the mall to get a new watch battery from the kiosk that sells me watch batteries that fail within a year. So I might hit the food court!

OFF-TOPIC: I deeply hate when coworkers interrupt my explanation of a situation halfway through to say, “Mm-hm, got it,” in a tone indicating they are done listening to me, but also with a face indicating they don’t got it at fucking all.

But hotspur, they are Very Important People with Very Urgent Things to Do, and wait, they need to answer their phone right now and talk really loud!

  2. Ooh, thanks for the list! I’ll add the most recent season of Blue Planet, which is on Netflix now. I always love nature documentaries anyway, but the footage they got for this one is just BANANAS, especially for the episode about the deep ocean. Don’t go down there, guys. It’s real weird.

I had half a quesadilla and some butternut squash with cheese- it’s like Mac and cheese but with vegetables masquerading as pasta. And I will eat the exact same meal for dinner because that is part of life when you don’t cook but still try to eat healthy.
