How Was Your Weekend?

So it’s Monday again. How was the weekend? Busy? Lazy? Snowy? Sunny? Lots of movies and shows?

I started watching Occupied on Netflix, a Norwegian drama set in the near future about a soft Russian invasion. Part of the backstory is the U.S. has become energy self-sufficient. I guess we can dream.

i saw three movies. First of all, Captain Marvel, which should be called Captain Great. I will probably wait a couple of weeks and see it again. It is easily one of the top 5 Marvel movies, which are as follows:
    1) Thor Ragnarok
    2) Guardians of the Galaxy maybe
    3) Captain Marvel probably
    4) Ant-Man I’d say
    5) Elektra (jkjkjkjk, I’ll guess Winter Soldier but maybe Black Panther)
Does anyone want to fight me on this list? Go ahead! I can take a punch! But even if you hate super heroes, you should see Captain Marvel. It’s just a good movie.

Secondly I finally saw Deadpool after 3 years of everyone I know telling me I’d like it. I liked it.

Thirdly I saw Hereditary. It’s a horror movie, currently free on Prime, and you should look up nothing about it, just go watch it. This is assuming you want to be so horrified as to feel genuinely uncomfortable and worried about life, not only while watching it but for at least one more day. Past the one-day mark I can’t judge yet. But it’s great, easily one of the best horror movies of the decade, which has produced excellent horror movies (like It Follows and The Witch). It is a crime that Toni Collette did not get an Oscar nomination for it.

I’ve been wanting to check out Hereditary.

Horror isn’t necessarily one of my favorite genres, but I might go see Us in the theater so I don’t have to avoid internet spoilers until it comes out on Netflix or HBO.

I hope to see Captain Great soon, I’ve heard good things. I also enjoyed Deadpool.

My only beef with your list is Wonder Woman should be on there somewhere. Ant Man and not Wonder Woman?

Wonder Woman was good, but at some point (for me) it becomes a question of the dreary blue color palette vs the infinite rewatchability of Paul Rudd and Michael Pena.

I didn’t leave my apartment all weekend except to go to the lobby to use the treadmill. I slept, read, watched TV, and cleaned. I’ve finished purging my belongings and have now moved on to deep cleaning. Things are really dirty when you look closely, like underneath my fridge, oh boy. I bought a crap ton of cleaning products, but one item that is turning out to be amazing is the steel wool with soap in it, it cleans everything! $2.50 for a box of 10 at the grocery store.

I watched the movie Hell or High Water on Netflix. It was very good!

It was a pretty quiet weekend. I really should have cleaned the bathroom, but I guess I’ll save that fun chore for another day.
