It’s Friday. Let’s Dance!

Happy Friday, y’all! Ugh sorry, I regretted that immediately. What is everyone up to this weekend? I have a party to go to! It’s an engagement party. I was surprised to be invited because I haven’t seen or spoken to this friend in maybe 3 years – not for any bad reasons, just life getting in the way. So I’m happy to see him. But am I supposed to bring a gift, engagement or general party-wise? I also have plans to paint an accent wall, just because painting all the walls seems like a huge pain in the ass. I can manage one wall.

Now I have the Dirty Dancing song in my head. Has anyone watched Dirty Dancing lately? I wonder if it holds up.

Maybe I can help; I rewatched Zodiac last night, and that totally holds up.

I rewatched A Bronx Tale recently and it does not hold up.

Ooh I think we have a BNPG! (see

What can you say with authority either does or does not hold up? I saw Die Hard in the theater in November and it TOTALLY holds up as a good action movie with moments of humor.

I watched Gremlins in December and I am startled to report with authority, it is not good.

        • Tracey says:

Noooooooo how can Gremlins be bad?

        • nastyemu says:

I want to say that Goonies is kind of also bad, but not so bad that you shouldn’t watch it anymore. The Money Pit gets waaay darker than I remember as a kid, The Burbs and Captain Ron(even if only for the gorillas/guerrillas joke that I didn’t get as a kid) are pretty good still, and I really can’t stress enough that nobody should ever watch A Bronx Tale ever again.

I rewatched Flash Gordon last night and it holds way the hell up, people. Then I spent an hour looking up trivia about the film, and boy was that a messed-up production. And now Queen’s music keeps going through my head.
